Ok, I admit---the picture of the butterfly does not say much about me. But, it is one of my favorites and really reflects the beauty of color and nature which are two things I greatly admire and appreciate. This pic was taken in my garden last summer.

I began making cards not long ago. I have also been scrapbooking for a few years, and with the support of my wonderful Scrappy Girls (you know who you are!) I began to open my eyes to the possibilities of card making. I learned (and continue to learn) new styles, approaches, techniques etc. all the time. Not only is the industry constantly changing, people's styles are all so varied and change frequently too! It really dawned on me that the cost of buying cards that were pre-made, stale, dry, boring or just plain tacky was getting on my nerves. The cost for something that I didn't like or that didn't really "hit the nail on the head"--WHY?!

So, with these thoughts running through my mind and knowing full well that people could and should give a card that truly has meaning. Why give a card that you spent $4 on-and it has a high chance of ending up in the trash at the end of the day.

Make it meaningful. Make it a treasure.
